Ingredients

Scale

Berry Filling

  • 78 cups mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and/or blackberries), fresh or frozen
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch (or arrowroot starch)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

Crisp Topping

  • 1 cup almond flour (or almond meal)
  • ⅔ cup shredded or desiccated coconut (or rolled oats)
  • 1 cup roughly chopped pecans (or other nut of choice)
  • ½ cup coconut sugar (or organic cane sugar)
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 4 Tbsp coconut oil or vegan butter
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375˚F.
  2. In a 9×13 baking dish, combine the berry filling ingredients (berries, maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla, and cornstarch). Mix well until evenly coated.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the crisp topping ingredients — almond flour, coconut or oats, nuts, sugar, salt, and maple syrup if using. Use your hands to ensure everything is well combined.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the berry mixture, gently pressing it down.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm on its own or with a scoop of dairy-free vanilla ice cream!
  7. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Seasonal Swap: Replace berries with apples, pears, or peaches for a cozy fall or summer twist.
  • Nut-Free Option: Substitute sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds for the pecans.
  • Extra Crunchy: Add 2 Tbsp of rolled oats to the topping for extra texture.
  • Serve it Warm: Pairs beautifully with coconut whipped cream or a drizzle of cashew cream.
